December 1997

Barbara - I am searching for anyone who may have known my brother, James (Jimmy)D. Waddell. He entered the service in July of 1967. He was from Lamesa Texas. He had basic training at Ft.Polk and Ft.Knox. He also had Red Missile Training at White Sands. He served 5 months in Korea as a tank crewman.
He was with E Troop, 11th ACR. On April 14, 1971 his troop was road marching from one area in the Ham Tan,Phan Thiet area to a battle zone northwest of Siagon, which would have been the main invasion route for North Vietnameses Armies to take over South Vietnam. The troops new mission was to ast as Rear Guard for U.S. Troops as they withdrew from Vietnam. Jimmy was training his replacement on his tank and had two weeks left in Nam. The new inexperienced driver somehow caused the vehicle to downshift. The front of the vehicle dipped and Jimmy rolled off. There was no time to stop before the tank ran over him. He died instantly.
If any of you remember him, please, I would like to hear from you. Although it has been over 26 years since his death, I still miss him dearly..we were very close and I would like to have the opportunity to talk with anyone who knew him. Posted 12-29-97

Kevin J. Borsch, I am borrowing a friends login to the internet in hopes of finding a buddy I served with in Vietnam. I was inducted into the Army 2/15/66. I did Basic and AIT in Fort Hood, Texas. I was in the 720th MP. We did our bataillion movement via train to San Francisco then to Vietnam on board ship. I met Larry Peters in Texas and both of us went to Vietnam. I am trying to find Larry to thank him for something that happened in Vietnam before I left. It would really mean a lot to me if I could find this man. I have been clean and sober since February 2, 1979. The only information I have on Larry Peters other than where we did our basic and tour of duty is that he was a clerk for a period of time in Fort Hood, but in Vietnam I think he may have been an MP. He originally was from Ohio, city or town unknown to me. This man would be between the ages of 50-54. Posted 12-12-97
