Web Page Design Info
The Internet uses simple text (ASCII format) and graphics (.gif and .jpg format) to communicate on the Web.
A Web Browser interprets the text and graphics, one program line at a time, and displays them to your screen. Because of the
speed of today's computers, this all happens really fast. The good thing about this arrangement is that Web pages are not
compiled, like a desktop application (Microsoft Word - for example), is, so you can actually write Web pages with a simple
text editor! Some Internet accounts include server space for your own Web page already (Sunlink and Prolog), so what
are you waiting for, give it a try! There are some very good shareware HTML editors available on the Web too, these programs can help you
"fancy up" your pages, but a good way to learn HTML is to simply start building a Web page with your Notepad or other
ASCII text editor.
