 MICHAEL MILNE

Day is done, gone the sun

From the hills, from the lake

From the skies.

All is well, safely rest

God is nigh

 Michael we salute you!

Michael F. Milne, 63, former National Executive Director and National Commander of the Veterans of the Vietnam War, Inc. passed away at the VA Medical Center Nursing Home in Wilkes-Barre, PA on Saturday, November 10, 2007.  Mike is survived by his wife Debbie and children.

Michael was one of the founding members of the organization back in 1987 and served as a Veteran Service Officer.  He testified before Congress about Agent Orange and its effects and was featured in Life magazine about the disabilities he experienced due to his exposure.  He traveled to Vietnam to work with former Congressman Billy Hendon on the POW/MIA issue.  His retirement to Commander Emeritus several years ago was due to his poor health.

A friend best summed up Mike's devotion to Veterans by saying, "I bet you Mike is currently in heaven fighting with God for better Veterans' Benefits."

Michael will be sadly missed by the organization, Veterans and friends throughout the country.

"An organization succeeds, not because it is long-established,
but because there are people in it who live it, sleep it, dream it,
and build future plans for it."
